Experience

Corinex CommunicationsMay 2026 – PresentHardware R&D Engineering Co-op / Software QA Engineering Co-opVancouver, BC
  • Transitioned from Software QA to Hardware R&D after six weeks, expanding from test automation into mechanical design, prototyping, and workshop development.
  • Developed automated tests with Python, Pytest, and Playwright, integrated them into Jenkins CI, and tracked defects using Bitbucket and Jira.
  • Designed production and workshop components in Fusion 360, then manufactured and iterated prototypes using 3D printing.
  • Contributed to workshop layout, ventilation-system development, equipment installation, and basic electrical wiring.
McMaster UniversitySeptember 2025 – December 2025Project Manager & Software Lead, Robotic Order-Packing System (ENG 1P13)Hamilton, ON
  • Managed a five-person team building an automated warehouse order-packing system on a Q-Arm robot, owning scope, timelines, and task allocation across mechanical and software workstreams.
  • Led development of modular Python control software for product lookup, arm motion sequencing, packing operations, and operation logging.
  • Designed a 4:1 geared rack-and-pinion gripper in Autodesk Inventor within a 100 g end-effector limit, iterating through 3D-printed prototypes to resolve gear meshing, tolerance, and rigidity failures.
Hypercharge CanadaJune 2023 – August 2023EV Charger Technician InternVancouver, BC
  • Assembled, configured, and tested 100+ EV charging units involving embedded firmware and power electronics.
  • Diagnosed hardware faults, replaced internal components, and performed electrical checks and quality control.

Projects

Accessible Macro PadProject Coordinator & Sole Hardware Designer

jando.live/projects/accessible-macro-pad (opens in a new tab)

  • Designed an accessible Bluetooth device with three large physical controls and six configurable mobile actions.
  • Created the enclosure, keycaps, and ESP32 resistor-ladder circuit; contributed to firmware and the React Native app.
  • Rebuilt failed connections and calibrated ADC thresholds until all three inputs triggered reliably.
FIRA RoboWorld Cup Autonomous Race Car1st Nationally, 2nd Internationally
  • Built an autonomous race car using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Python, and OpenCV.
  • Implemented vision-based edge detection and PID steering, then tuned the integrated system for competition.
NoNotes, AI-Powered Note-Taking Platform1st Place, HappyHacks II
  • Led backend development for a Flask and SQLite platform that converted lectures into searchable notes.
  • Integrated speech-to-text, NLTK processing, and automated summarization during a 48-hour hackathon.
